What are Balustrades and when can they be used?

A Balustrade can be for decorative use or it is both decorative yet practical. Balustrades, banisters or Juliet balconies are used as safety barriers, to protect people from falling.

Glass is the desired material of choice due to its qualities, the transition of natural light, its lack of imposing on a space it allows the space to flow and compliments it.

The level of safety of the construction of the glass balustrade very much depends on the height of the fall from the area to which it is being installed and the area uses. The Building code laws state that if the height from a balcony, deck or raised area to the ground is 600mm or more then a balustrade is required.

It is particularly important to ensure that safety and the highest specification are adhered to in public areas or areas with high traffic use.
